Discuss with MD: Sounds like migraine headache or variant. Although stiff neck, would have to rule out a more serious inflammatory or infectious process, involving the nervous tissue, ie: meningitis..

Migraine vs Virus: I concur with dr silver. Most instances of meningitis are aseptic meningitis--usually virus inflaming the meninges. It is painful with stiff neck, ha & nausea, but it goes away like any other virus--rest, fluids, tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen for pain. Red flags for something worse = high fever over 102f, somnolence, vomiting, seizure, or loss of strength, sensation, hearing or vision. Feel better soon!
