Get it: If your aunt feels like she needs a second opinion, then i would agree. Do research in your area and find doctors that specialize in this condition, make an appointment, and try to bring as much of her medical records as you can obtain. The doctor that has been taking care of her will not mind; do not hesitate to ask for these records. Good luck.

Consult a medical On: A medical oncologist should be consulted for advice on further treatment. Most cases of stomach cancer need adjuvant chemotherapy after you recover from gastrectomy. Also a close follow up is advised because of the risk of recurrence of this cancer in the future.

Teams are Best: Make sure your aunt's case is discussed in a multidisciplinary setting so the input of surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and other specialties are taken into account. A second opinion is great, but it is best to have the case discussed by multiple experts, not just any one discipline. Consider a cancer center.
