Should help: Varicose veins are due to malfunctioning (refluxing) of the saphenous vein system. Bicycle riding caused the calf muscles to contract resulting in an increase in venous return to the heart and a decrease in venous pressure. This is an excellent exercise as it essentially does what support stockings should do. Better still, see a vein specialist and have the vv evaluated for possible treatment.

Activity is good: Any activity is good , will not allow the pooling of blood in the vericose veins , there by preventing superficial phlebitis ( also deep veins prevent DVT ).

No: Cycling isn't likely to make your condition worse if you do have varicose veins.. You can get varicose veins for cycling.But genetic predisposition plays a major role in the condition.
