Perhaps: Whether you should be weaned from your metoprolol depends in part on why you are on metoprolol. For some conditions, abruptly discontinuing a beta-blocker can cause problems. Even if stopping your beta-blocker abruptly doesn't cause dangerous symptoms, you may not feel good with an abrupt transition from beta-blockade to unblocked state. Re-discuss with your doctor.

Metoprolol: From your medical problems list, I am not sure why you were placed on metoprolol? Not sure why it was stopped. Yes, it can be stopped in certian situations and it can be weaned off in some other situations. After stopping it please check your bp. If your BP is high then you need alternative/substitute medication.
