How can you tell the difference between anxiety and heart related pain?

Examination: I would examine for other causes before diagnosing anxiety. We have a few tests and basic history and physical would narrow down the diagnosis.

Talk to your MD: Anxiety is notorious for causing a sense of muscle tightness and even pain in the chest. Most people would do well to visit their doctor, have a physical and history done, and consider an ekg - --cardio gram. A good doctor can usually sort this out if they consider the total picture.
