Anxiety: Anxiety attacks symptoms are similar to heart attacks. A detailed history, ECG and blood tests differentiate the 2. Risk factors like dm HTN lipids, family history, smoking etc put at risk for a cardiac event.

Symptoms may mimic: A good idea is to visit a trusted doctor for a cardiac exam and believe the results. If your heart is functioning well, you are not likely to have a heart attack. So, the next time you feel that way, you can assume it is anxiety. Here's a good info source: http://www.Calmclinic.Com/anxiety/symptoms/heart-attack it it's focal=anxiety, if you're ok in 10 min=anxiety, etc. Good luck. Cbt helps.
