No easy cure: Excessive sweating, or hyperhydrosis is a condition characterized by dysfunction of the sympathetic nervous system. Generally, patients are assessed by a dermatologist, who may initially try oral medications to control the sweating. If medical therapy fails, hyperhydrosis patients may be offered direct Botox injections within the sweat glands, or surgical sympathectomy.
