Post nasal drip: Hello, you are experiencing a movement of mucus from the nasal cavity to the oropharynx. This mucus carries dirt, viruses, bacteria and chemicals your nose filters while breathing air. If this mucus dries, it thickens and causes irritation. Drink more water, use an otc saline nasal spray. If the symptoms are associated with sneezing, an allergy could be present. An antihistamine should help.
