AC Joint dislocation: It sounds like your dislocation was at your acromioclavicular joint ( where the collarbone meets the shoulder). If that is true, then your pain may be due to cartilage damage at that joint. X-rays will be helpful in making a diagnosis.

Shoulder or AC: Sounds like acromioclavicluar (ac) joint instability. Did you dislocate your shoulder or ac joint 9 years ago? Many people mistakenly think an ac dislocation is a shoulder dislocation. I would see an orthopedist for advice.
