Separate: In most cases, different symptoms appear separately over time. Hiv infection is usually asymptomatic for long periods of time. The best way to be sure is to get tested, proper timely treatment increases the chances of remining without symptoms if found positive.

Stages: There are stages to the HIV infection with different sets of symptoms. If someone is worried about hiv, they should get tested early so they can have this conversation with their doctor and prevent the worst of the complications.
