Why is my estradiol low after ovulation?

Ovarian cyst: A cyst (follicle) ruptures each month as you ovulate. During follicle growth, it produces Estradiol and the level drops after ovulation. The same collapsed follicle then produces Progesterone to support implantation if you are trying to conceive.
