Str vs Endur: Strength is looking for maximum output over a short period of time. An example of this would be powerlifting. Endurance would be training for long periods of time usually at a reduced rate. This would be a distance runner. Usually it is best to cross train, or train for both as in doing so you can develop both types of muscle fibers, fast twitch (strength) and slow twitch (endurance).
