The exact causes of headaches aren't known. You could try some self care strategies like massages, warm compresses over neck/temples, green tea, relaxation, and ibuprofen/tylenol.

? muscle?: Put your fingers over the area where you feel the headache and then open and close. If it feels like the muscle, then look into why the muscle is cramping, which may be the bite, joints and muscle (tmj). The first thing to do though is check with your md to be sure there is no underlying medical problem.

Get examined: Headaches which always on the same side (right or left does not matter) raises suspicion for structural brain disease such as tumor, vascular malformation etc. Regardless of headache frequency, if 100% are on the same side, you need a brain scan even if you have a normal neurologic examination.
