Why do antibiotics change the color of stool?

Stool: Antibiotics may affect the color and character of stools because not only do they affect the "bad" bacteria the doctor may be treating you for, it also affects the "good" bacteria that are residents in our gastrointestinal system. This may change the make up of those bacteria and lead to different digestion patterns, causing changes in stool.
