Guessing what u mean: In end-of-life situations, pacers can be turned off using a programmer box. The cardiologist will know how to arrange this. They generally are not removed from the body unless there is an infection, which is uncommon.

Depends: If temporary deactivation is needed, placement of a special magnet or programming can take care of it. If permanent deactivation is the goal, it can be turned off by a programmer. Surgical procedure is needed to physically remove it.
