Variable: In phase 3 studies, about 2% of adults lost weight. This was generally transient and was not sustained. Other side-effects prevent strattera (atomoxetine) from being considered a weight loss agent.

It Doesn't: Strattera (atomoxetine) is not know for causing weight loss. Fortunately, it also doesn't cause weight gain.

Agree with both Drs: Dahmes & capote. Strattera (atomoxetine) can cause decreased appetite, nausea and vomiting.

Diethylpropion: Diethylpropion is a prescription non-stimulant with similar mechanism of action that is actually indicated for appetite suppression, and is a lot cheaper than strattera (atomoxetine).
