Can bone "dent"?

Yes, but...: Adult bones are stiff and children's bones are somewhat malleable. Therefore, when an adult breaks a bone, it usually breaks all the way through. In children, small fractures can happen that only "dent" the bone rather than break it all the way throughout.

" plastic deformation" of children's forearm bones w/ injury is esp. common.
