Laughter-induced or: Gelastic syncope is extremely rare. It is thought to be a sub-type of the situational syncopes; a valsalva-type effect: increased pressure in the chest reduces venous blood return resulting in decreased heart output and a transient reduction in blood flow to the brain, therefore fainting. Precautions are important to prevent injury if fainting occurs. Best regards.
