Infections: Have no idea what you mean by "water infections". There are numerous diseases that can be transmitted to humans thru contaminated water. The active ingredient in dettol that confers its antiseptic property is chloroxylenol which should not be taken by humans as it has potentially lethal toxicity. It can be used in contaminated water, but then you could not drink the water.
