Maybe: If blood is bright red (like a clot), it often is caused by hemorrhoids or straining to have a bowel movement. Small veins on the inside and near outside of rectum are thin walled and can start bleeding. You should seek a medical exam to determine cause or need for other kinds of testing to see if you have colon or rectal problems. Usually use of stool softeners and fiber in diet will help.
