Nerve impingement : Burning pain is a sign of a nerve irritation. This could be from a peripheral nerve in or around the skin, but also could be from the sciatic nerve due to entrapment by the piriformis muscle. Lastly the nerve could be irritated in the lumbar/sacral spine area due to a disc herniation or degeneration of the spine.

Depends: Does the pain radiate from the back? Are you concerned about a disc herniation? Would consider MRI of your lumbar spine.
