All about receptors: You may be aware that there are beta receptors throughout our body. When a patient takes a beta blocker, receptors in the ciliary body may be affected and decrease the amount of aqueous humor produced. However, it is not know how much it reduces the pressure on a consistent basis and not indicated to treat ocular hypertension or glaucoma.

Beta receptors...: ...Exist in heart and eye. So beta blocker affects both. Bet blocker pill wont drop pressure in eye by more than a couple of points.

Decrease production: Preasure in the eye is a balance between how much fluid is made in the eye and how much flows out. Beta blockers decrease the production. They can lower pressure about 15-20%.
