I have an itchy red swollen area under the chin, on the jawline and on my neck. the doctor gave prednisone. won't this make it hard for me to heal? if this is yeast, couldprednisone be dangerous?

Redness: Prednisone can make yeast infection worse sometimes but not dangerous. He might be thinking allergic reaction. You could try the Prednisone and see whethere the redness is getting better. Follow up with your doctor.

Give it a try: The Prednisone will reduce the swelling. If it gets worse, see your doctor. Either way, using topical Prednisone as prescribed isn't strong enough to precipitate really bad yeast overgrowth.

No: Few days of Prednisone would not affect the healing, but help with the itching and help with healing.The rash you describe is not yeast , therefore it would not be dangerous at all.If it is yeast, your rash would still be there, it may spread but would not be dangerous since it it just a few days.
