M.D. visit: During pregnancy a number of pulmonary conditions may develop. Your recent cold and then the onset of chest pain may be related as the ED physician indicated. If it occurs more upon inspiration, then pleurisy is more likely than asthma. Your PPI use for GERD is another reason since GERD can mimic chest pain. The diagnosis of PE may also involve a VQ scan and Doppler ultrasound to avoid contrast.
