Nitroglycerin: Relief of chest pain by Nitroglycerin does not necessarily mean that the pain is cardiac in origin. For example, esophageal spasm can cause chest pain which may be relieved by nitroglycerin.

I've been to the ER 4 times and been admitted twice for chest pains that radiates to my shoulder, neck and jaw. Tests have been negative but I'm having it again tonight. I'm Not sure if I should go back. Nitro helps but the pain comes back?
I just had a non stemi- heart cath clean, echo normal, cxr normal, ekg sinus tach,. I am now having chronic chest pressure after the heart cath that is only relieved with nitro- it causes severe anxiety and SOB, would this be angina or anxiety?
