That depends...: ...On the cause of the bad sleep. Bad sleep can be from anxiety, coffee, an uncomfortable bed, noise, light, and many, many other reasons.

Investigate: Why you are not. Room full of electronic equipment? Get it out of room? Cool enough? Dark enough? Busy mind? Then meditate. Tried all this then see your doctor...You may benefit form a sleep study. Good luck, sleep is so helpful.

No magic bullet: Avoid stimulants (eg, coffee), exercise daily, go to bed at a reasonable time in a dark cool room without tv or cell phone distractions.

See below: Establish time when you would like to go to bed. Create a bed time routine: warm showers, room on a slightly cooler side. No heavy meals close to bedtime. No caffeine close to bed time. Learn relaxation exercises to help put your body in "i'm sleeeeeepy mode":). Don't use your bedroom as your office and use bed only for sleep and sex. The body likes schedules and routines. Use excellent sleep : Hygiene. 1. Keep regular bed & waking time (even weekends). Rise same time each day, regardless of time you fell asleep. 2. Develop relaxing bedtime routine: warm bath/shower, aromatherapy, reading, or listening to gentle music. 3. Sleep in dark, quiet, cool room w comfortable mattress & pillows. 4. Behavior modifying: One place to start is practicing good sleep hygiene. Keep your sleep pattern consistently structured, avoid napping, use bed only for sleep or intimacy, and avoid lying in bed long periods without sleeping. If falling asleep is troublesome because of trouble turning off your thoughts, relaxation and imagery techniques are often helpful. For more help with these make an appointment with a therapist
