Is vit c can be given to a g6pd deficient?

Well: Some literature has shown that vitamin c given to g6pd deficient patient can cause rupture of red blood cells (hemolysis) at high doses. At lower doses it was not reproduced. Discuss these risks and benefits with your physician as it may or not be safe in your case.

Going back to.....: Organic chemistry and biochemistry, carboxylic acids like Ascorbic Acid (aka vitamin c) have oxidant potential (ie., meaning that they can accept electrons from other molecules, thereby oxidizing them and themselves being reduced). The same is true of citric acid (in citrus fruits), vinegar (some salad dressings), etc. At normal dietary levels, you are probably fine, but you should consult ur dr.
