I don't have rheumatoid arthritis, but have been diagnosed with arthritis. will steroids help me with this pain?

Yes, but..: Steroids will help the pain and swelling but taking them regularly is very bad for your health. Using them occasionally is ok but not the answer. See an orthopedic surgeon or rheumatologist for better long term options.

Not recommended: Unless you are talking about occasional joint injections, long term steroids are not recommended for osteoarthritis. As you have neuropathy (burning hands and feet), neck and shoulder pain as well, i recommend seeing a pain physician who can manage all of these issues.

Rheumatoid Arthritis: Steroids can provide temporary relief but the side effects of multiple or long term use can be as bad or worse than the disease itself. Talk to you rheumatologist about alternative treatments.
