Only if you get high: Some long-distance athletes release Dopamine in their systems and endorphins (morphine like compounds) once they have pushed themselves far enough and they get high off of it. If this describes you, then you could literally be addicted to it. My oldest brother qualified for the olympics in swimming, never got high, but got heart attack in pool and died. Addicted? No.Unfortunate? Very.

More info is needed: Addictions are characterized by behaviors that impair social/occupational functioning and continue in spite of the behaviors causing physical problems. Characteristics include tolerance and withdrawal. Associated with a significant amount of pleaseure. Compulsions are repetitive behaviors generally developed to ward off some bad thought, such as, "if i stop swimming, i'll die".
