Smaller doses, D3: Vitamin d, in usual doses, should not cause much by way of muscle pain unless you have an underlying metabolic disease. Sometimes it is better tolerated when taken daily and somewhat smaller doses, rather than once a week in 50, 000 units. Naturally derived forms of vitamin d3 can also cause less distress.
