Culture semen/urine: Treatment of enterococcus and e. Coli prostatitis should be based upon culture of seminal fluid and or the urine. The culture will reveal the appropriate antibiotic to eradicate the bacterial infection. If the Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) has not been successful culture and sensitivity to detect the appropriate antibiotic is essential.
