NonAllergicRhinitis: Comprehensive medical history and physical exam is often sufficient. A long list of things are implicated in nonallergic rhinitis, hormonal being one. If presentation suggests hypothyroidism, appropriate labs should be performed. Tests to rule out systemic causes that may mimic rhinitis such as immunologic conditions (e.g. Sarcoidosis, wegners) may be indicated as suggested by clinical presentatio.

Nonallergic rhinitis: I think you need to consider everything in cases of nom allergic rhinitis. Higher levels of estrogen have been more associated with non allergic rhinitis. Pregnant mothers have nasal congestion and can suffer from rhinitis. There is not a lot of research that has been published answering these questions.
