Could wisdom teeth surgery have damaged my sinus? i had a sinus infection for six months afterwards and reoccurring problems ever since.

Yes: Not infrequently, the upper wisdom tooth roots can extend up into the maxillary sinus and you can develop a sinus infection as a result of removal of wisdom tooth.

Maybe: You should go back to your dentist or oral surgeon to get checked out. If you had upper wisdom teeth taken out, they are close to your sinus. You would most likely be in some pain back in the wisdom tooth area as well. It's best to get the area xrayed to make sure all is well with the extraction site. Hope you feel better!

Sinus infection: A sinus infection follow a tooth extraction is certainly possible but not as likely with a third molar extraction due to the location of the tooth and proximity to the maxillary sinus. A ct scan could help determine is this is the case but the treatment for the infection would probably follow the same course either way. A ct scan and referral to an ENT would be recommended.
