Forearm fracture: Depends on the age of the patient, the displacement of the fractures, the integrity of the skin and if there are other injuries. Younger children's forearms due to growth are more forgiving and correct with time. Forearm fractures in patients over 12 years old cannot afford angulation and often are plated. Open fractures or pts with poly trauma are plated.

Many: A lot depends on age, location, displacement, open or closed, comminuted or simple. Ur orthopedic surgeon will decide on how 2 treat ; many times this changes as the fracture is followed. Any loss of position may change the treatment plan . So anywhere from casting to reduction ; casting 2 surgical fixation, either external fix . Internal fix.
