Coccidiodomycosis: Symptomatic desert fever often presents as a flu-like illness with fever, cough, headaches, rash, myalgia (muscle pain), and arthralgia (joint pain). The rash is maculopapular. Erythema nodosum on lower extremities, and erythema multiforme in necklace-like can occur. Treatment, if necessary (many may not need it) is with anti-fungal agents. Best to see an infectious diseases expert in the area.
