Yes: Any amount of bleeding can be a normal menstrual period. This can range from slight spotting to heavy bleeding. Abnormal bleeding would be defined as bleeding heavily for greater than 7 days, or bleeding heavier than a pad or tampon per hour. For that type of bleeding, evaluation is warranted.
