Possibly: Various gastro intestinal symptoms may occure in a cycle manner. Most women have no gastro-intestinal symptoms referable to the menstrual cycle. Others will have appetite changes , nausea , constipation etc during their period or in the week prior to the period and thsome only at midcycle . If one has any additional symptoms seek attention .Eg -abdominal pain lasting > 2 days at ovulation.

Why do I get constipation always after my ovulation?

Progesterone: Progesterone is a smooth muscle relaxer. It is only released after you ovulate. So it causes your bowels to become slower leading to some mild constipation.

Does ovulation cause bloat and constipation ?

Dr. Jay Nemiro answered

Maybe: In some women, at the time of ovulation, because of the higher estrogen levels, which cause water retention, you can feel bloated. Post ovulation, when you produce progesterone, that hormone may relax your bowels a little making you more prone to being constipated. Alot of women experience these symptoms on a monthly basis. Can try some MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) and/or fiber for the constipation. Hope this helps.
