Not necessarily.: Studies have shown that 40 mg of citalopram is as good as 60 mg. Always go for the lowest effective dose.

Yes : It is not advisable to take Celexa (citalopram) 60mg. Because fda has a warning about any dose of Celexa (citalopram) more than 40mg. Increases the chances of heart problems.
