No: Air containing lungs are not visible though some free fluid in the chest may sometimes be seen. The way the study is performed most of the middle and front of the chest is excluded from view.

I was wondering if MRIs provide a full scan of the body even if its been ordered to follow up on a particular issue. For instance if the MRI was ordered to look at bladder would it show upper body images also in the chest area, lungs, etc?
I had an MRI with contract on my chest and a chest X-ray, would this potentially show lung scarring ? Or can a CT scan only clearly show the image?
