Not definitely : There are suggestive ultrasound finding to try to distinguish between benign and malignant lesions. If a nodule shows up as a simple cyst then it is almost certainly benign. Solid nodules that measure higher than they are wide tend to malignant. The only definite way to tell is to get a biopsy.
