A member asked:

Can you make your mucus plug come out?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: A larger amount of cervical mucus that is sometimes thicker and may be blood-tinged MAY be noticed by patients in their underwear, etc. as patients get closer to being term. But some patients never notice this, and that is normal too. Never put anything in the vagina/cervix or do anything to try to "make the mucus plug come out". This could cause infection, bleeding, or other serious problems.
