Usually not: It is very unusual to have a septic reaction to dental cleaning, although the american heart association has been concerned about this for a long time. They have recently ruled that unless there is a new implant in the body or organ replacement, or a history of infective heart disease, or significant heart defect, that antibiotic cover is not advised. You really should ask your doctor.
