A member asked:

Can u get bladder infection frm a lake?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

UTI: Unusual, but could potentially occur under unique circumstances. Would need more info to respond accurately. Usually utis in women are from bacteria present in the vaginal barrel and perineum (labia, etc.). They get there from the stool, and because women have a short urethra (tube from bladder out) infection is much easier than in men.
