A member asked:

2 years old have fever 103, feet and hands cold, should i be concerned?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Perhaps...: What is the cause for the 103* fever? If your toddler is exhibiting troubling signs such as persistent cough, ear drainage, refusing to eat or drink--it would be wise to have her examined right away. With fever, the body thermostat is tricked into thinking the core temp should be higher. Blood supply to the hands & feet are slowed to reduce heat loss, to keep the core temp higher--capriciously.
