Usually irritants : Nose bleeds are usually a reflection of nasal irritant effect. Dry heat, smoke, dust, fumes, etc.All lead to irritation and occasionally infection. This causes small nasal capillaries to bleed, often as the face is rubbed into bed linen in sleep. Removing as many irritants from their life as possible can help as can nasal saline wash, nasal saline gel and humidity within their sleeping areas.

Picking...: The top three reasons for nose bleeds in kids are picking their nose, picking their nose, and picking their nose. So that is the most important thing to start with - keep fingers out! then assess for what might be irritating the noses mucosa - irritants such as allergens, dust, smoke, dryness - the list is long. Use nasal saline spray to moisturize and if continues, have doc or ENT take a look.
