Common: Usually this is from release from the menstrual lining of prostaglandin, which makes the muscle of your uterus cramp. If you are not allergic to Naproxen (aleve), you can block that release by taking one pill in morning and evening before onset of your menses, continuing through the menses. This will decrease your flow and block the cramps.
