Infection/mucous: Could be an infection, especiaaly if there is pain or discomfort, or it could be mucous in the tonsil crfypts. Best to see your otolaryngologist.

Different possible: causes. White spots on tonsils & adjacent tissues could be due to fungal infections (Thrush), Epstein-Barr virus ( mononu-cleosis), bacterial infection (strep throat), viral infections, tonsil stones, leukoplakia, herpes infections or oral can-cer.
