A member asked:

What type of infections cause spleen calcifications?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Splenic calcific: The most common is histoplasmosis, but this has the potential of occurring with any low grade self-limiting infection in which the spleen is involved in clearing the organisms. These are usually fungi or parasitic pathogens.
