There is Pelvic exam: There is no pelvic smear, you probably meant pelvic examination , which is an examination done by a gynecologist who inspects the internal organs and also palpates them for any abnormal enlargements of uterus and ovaries.

Exam vs test: The pelvic exam involves a visual inspection of the labia and vagina as well as a physical exam by palpating the uterus, ovaries an pelvic tissues. The pap smear is the collection of cells from the cervix for microscopic exam.
