Hematology workup: The elevation of these 2 parameters of the CBC (complete blood count) may reflect infection or inflammation. However, depending on the chronicity and extent of rise, it may also be associated with bone marrow problems such as myeloproliferative diseases. I suggest a hematology consultation and workup to sort out the underlying cause(s).
